Pontifex

Jason sat beside Piper, finishing up his waffle. Percy and Piper went for a walk. Everyone was together, despite being able to go back to how it was. Before the prophecy, that is. They could still be friends, but they could stay in their own camps.
But they all stuck together. He went to build a shrine, they all helped. Jason really loved that about his friends. This made him think of Leo. Leo was always a great friend, though Jason had a bit of a stronger friendship with him then the others.
So Jason knew that Leo was, in fact, alive. Well, he sort of knew. He saw him die, but he felt like he was alive. Somewhere. Hazel and Nico seemed to know, too. Though they didn’t say anything, they talked in hushed tones often.
“Jason. Did you hear me?” Piper interrupted his thoughts. “Yeah, Pipes?” She smiled at his uncharacteristic clumsiness. “I asked if you were ready to go train. I feel like we should practice archery for once…” Jason nodded evenly.
So, almost in unison the group of 4 demigods (Hazel and Frank wanted to go) got up and went to practice. Jason wasn’t terrible with archery, but he wasn’t good either. Frank was by far the best out of them all, and Hazel was a distant second.
The Apollo kids are always there, but there were a lot more demigods than usual. Jason spotted an Ares kid, a few Iris kids, a Bachus kid, and a few more. They grabbed some bows and suction-cup arrows. Frank somehow made the toy weapon look dangerous. Jason was pretty sure he looked down right silly.
So they practiced. It got pretty old pretty fast, especially since they had to retrieve the arrows sometimes. Camp Half-Blood used to use actual arrows, according to the Greek demigods. But then Chiron figured that monsters were enough of a threat. So he got magical suction cup arrows that replicated the weight and feel of normal ones.
Jason couldn’t figure out how to make his arrows go farther, but Frank was hitting almost all of his targets. Eventually, the demigods got bored and gave up. It wasn’t even time for dinner, so they all went to work on the shrine.
That is what Jason promised to do. Annabeth was a major helper, but she was with Percy at the moment. Not to mention, Piper and his other friends definitely helped out as well. Piper stood beside Jason, and they all talked about the plans.
The shrines would all be built in seemingly random places. They didn’t want them to all be next to each other, but they did want them to be sort of nearby. So, they started on Kymopoleia, a minor goddess of destructive storms.
Jason had promised to build her one in Camp Half-Blood and one in Camp Jupiter. So he started with the one in Camp Half-Blood. When she got the message, she was so happy, she promised not to make any fatal storms for a whole week.
They all pitched in, but Jason wished Leo was there. He would have made these shrines really cool. Jason tried to push that thought out of his mind. Eventually, Percy and Annabeth came along, and they all worked on the shrine.

By dinner time, they had the frame done. Everyone put up their tools, no one mentioning Leo. They all went back to the dining pavilion. They sat in the same spots. “Hey guys,” Hazel asked, pausing her conversation with Nico, “Nico and I want to tell you something.”
Percy’s face reddened slightly. Jason was a bit annoyed, but always bit back any comments. Nico had always had a crush on Percy, but Percy just recently found out. Around 3 weeks ago, maybe.
Jason was the first person to ever hear about this. Cupid essentially forced Nico to say it. Jason directed his attention back to Hazel and Nico. Nico frowned at Hazel, as if to say, really? Now? Hazel returned the frown and continued.
“Nico and I think that Leo may be alive.” Everyone lit up. “Wh-what?!” Percy stammered. Annabeth had her mouth hanging open. Piper smiled brightly at Jason, and Frank looked stunned. Before anyone could say anything else, Nico held up his hands. “May be! We don’t know for sure! Hazel and I definitely felt him die.”
No one knew how to react. Jason shook his head. "Guy's, look," he said, "Frank and Hazel told us about what Leo's plan was. Leo will probably make it. It's impossible, right?" Everyone shook their heads sadly. Yes, it was impossible. "Good," Jason continued, "Impossible is Leo's specialty."
