Usually I create a story then revolve characters around it or i make a character then revolve a story around them. First i take a personality thing and figure out what is their flaws and their strengths. Sometimes I draw the character then figure out the personality (if you can't draw you can use doll dress up games) but both working at your characters pourposly and sometimes they do hit you over the head and you just get a creative genius moment! help with character development. just how do you do that sort of process? I have so many characters and I feel like all of them were created just because they needed to be created, not because they hit me in the face screaming "let my story be told!"
Is it good to force yourself to come up with characters? Or is it better to sit and wait and think and let the ideas slam you in the face?

totally but the biggest thing for you is to paint a clear picture for the reader cause i would go through your story and like with the example i gave it didn't say that emma got out of the car to call her mom and what i'm getting from this story is the reader is caught up in a whirlwind of what's going on. i really don't care about the characters really but slow down and explain things in greater detail would be your thing...

First I thought that it would be only logical if the tires popped, second I got the idea from a tv show slash book and Emma's original character was in love with Percys original character and vice versa while he was dating Annabeths original character so I didn't mean for her to be a "mary sue" or anything and I am fine with my characters, thank you.
