The Son of Death

Chapter 5

Emily’s POV
After Eredos disappeared into the shadow I ran over to Leonardo. Luckily all that had received from Eredos was a thin cut than ran the length of his neck. He already had a flask of nectar, which he kept on himself in case he was injured, and was using it to seal the wound. After that was done I helped him to his feet and guided him to his sword as he was pale and shaking. As he picked up his sword he looked around at the kids still watching.
“Class is dismissed,” he said before turning around and heading up to the big house. I ran to catch up with him.
“What are you going to do?” I asked half running to stay at the same pace as him.
“I need to talk to Chiron,” he explained glancing quickly around as if checking if Eredos was still here. “This is more serious than I thought originally.” I helped him stand and supported him as he tried to stand. He wasn’t injured just shaken up but eventually we made it to the big house where Chiron was playing a card game with Mr D. As we walked up the steps they both looked up at us.
“Well obviously something happened and I don’t care so see you later,” Mr D announced as he stood up. He looked us each and then disappeared in a ray of light. Chiron looked back at us and sighed.
“Take a seat and explain what happened with Eredos,” he said gesturing to the empty chairs. This took me back as we hadn’t said a word about Eredos.
“How did you know this was about Eredos?” I asked
“How I know isn’t important but I want to hear what happened from your prospective.”
I explained how the training had went and how after Eredos had disarmed Leonardo and finally disappeared into the shadow of the training room.
“Is this true,” he asked looking at Leonardo, he looked back at him and nodded
“So it is worse than I thought,” he replied a look of dread crossing his face and he looked back to us. “I want both of you to not say a word of this till Eredos returns. If this is what I think this is then everyone’s souls are in danger.”
“Wait why is everyone’s souls in danger and what makes you think Eredos will come back?”
“Everything will make sense in time but for now head back to your cabins and take the day off,” he replied. He stood and walked off the patio and headed towards the archery range.
“I guess I’ll take you back to your cabin Leonardo,” to which he just nodded. I slipped his arm over my head and began our slow walk back to the Apollo cabin.
Eredos’s POV
I am a monster
Was the only thought that went through my head as I ran the events of the day back through my head. After I had somehow been transported through the shadows I had ended up in an abandoned subway system I had wandered it for hours not finding any exit. Eventually I had sat down in a dark corner and cried and that was when I heard his voice. It was the same voice that had spoken to me in cabin.
“Return to camp, you will be needed shortly.” I stood up and looked down at my hands where the black smoke was still curling around my hands. Go away I thought and the black smoke receded from my hands. I looked around again and saw no exit again.
“Use the shadows,” The voice in my head said and I realised what it meant. Back at the camp I had wanted to escape and the shadows had devoured me and I had ended up here. I looked at the shadow in front of me.
Camp Half-Blood I thought as I stepped into wall and fell through it.
When I woke I was lying next to Thalia’s tree with my head using the roots as a pillow. It was night and from where I was I could see the other campers eating in the pavilion, I stood and made my way down to the tables hopping no one would notice my arrival and of course everyone did.
As I entered the pavilion all conversation stoped. Everyone turned and looked at me but I just ignored then and made my way to my table where I sat down. There was a cough from the head table and everyone slowly looked away and returned to their food and conversations only looking at me occasionally. Someone sat down in front of me and looked up to see Emily with a look of concern on her face.
“I guess everyone knows what happened today?” I asked
“Yes and don’t you mean last week.”
“No yesterday, a week hasn’t passed since the … incident,” I replied
“Yes it has Eredos but that doesn’t matter. What does matter was where you were.”
“Some abandoned subway system,” I replied not looking at her but instead at my plate. “And why should you care anyway,” I questioned looking straight into her eyes.
“Because I do,” she replied before getting up and storming off back to her table. I looked back at my food no longer in the mood to eat so I sat their till other people started to leave. After I skipped the camp fire and instead headed straight to my cabin.

I agree with God of Books on the paragraph thing, but I'd also suggest punctuation to help your sentences be a little easier to read. :) Great start!
