Darkness

"Let's do this," Seth said, grinning broadly. I nodded, and Evan was pale. It's been five days since the encounter with Erebus and the Seven were leaving on their quest. And we were sneaking aboard too.

The Argo II was docked right above the Half blood Hill. The Seven board it at 6 AM. It's 3 AM now. Seth whistled softly and two Pegisi flew toward us.

One was all black with a white spot on his forehead. That was Thunder. He's mine. A gift from my father. The other, a girl, was a light Chestnut color with a beautiful mane. She was Seth's and he named her Chestnut.

The horses landed a few feet from us, and I immediately climbed onto Thunder's back. I looked over and saw Seth do the same. Evan climbed onto Thunder's back and we took off into the night.

Seth landed first, and Chestnut nickered. We landed a few feet away, Thunder's hooves clopping loudly on the hard wooden floor. I slid off, while Evan almost face-plants.

"We did it," Seth breathes. I nod, while Evan stares at the ground. Quickly clearing my throat, we begin exploring looking for a nice hiding place.

Chestnut and Thunder flew away, but stayed within earshot. Meanwhile, Seth had settled on the Stables. No one usually checks there, and its nice and big. It has a large water trough and empty stables to hide in. Even a nice large window that stretched from the floor to the wall.

It seemed nice, as long as no Pegisi came. I settled myself in the farthest stall from the door. Evan and Seth shared the stall next to mine. I closed the gate to my stable and put down my backpack. Hay littered the ground, so I bunched it all up to form a bed.

Taking out a blanket from my backpack, I lay on the itchy bed and closed my tired eyes. Now let's just hope the Seven don't find us.
