The Trident Seekers

Chapter 1

Even before being tricked into going on a date with a guy she just met, Sandy was having a bad day.
She had woken up that morning, feeling upbeat and energetic, and while he brushed her teeth, she even started to do a little dance.
A piece of platinum blonde hair fell across her face and into her eyes, so she reached up, and gently tucked it behind her ear.
She rinsed her mouth with water and checked her complexion one last time before going to her closet to pick something to wear. She decided on a pair of beige jeans, a white lace crop top, a jean jacket, and to top it off, she put on her teal Vans.
One last thing, she headed over to the polished oak jewelry box that held almost nothing and pulled out her locket.
The locket was oval, and made of silver. It had the pictures of her mother and of her father in it. Her mother, smiling proudley, and her father, with a gentle smile that warmed her heart every time she looked at it.
She smiled precariously at the photos, and closed the locket as she grabbed her book bag and house key off her desk.

Once in the kitchen, she quickly made herself a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese, and filled a glass of extra pulp orange juice.
Her mother strided into the room with her blootooth in her ear, talking sternly to her assistant Sarah. Her gray, 6 inch heels clicking on the tile floor as she walked over to the fridge.
Lucie Thomas, was the CEO of her own Marine Rehabilitation Company. All sorts of Marine animals were sent to the different Rehab Centers every day, and it was Lucie's job to make sure all the animals received the care they needed.
Her mom was a hero, in Sandy's eyes. Saving animals everyday was hard work but it deffinetly had their pros.
"Yes Sarah, I said 97 shipments in 4 days. Yes I know how much it will cost, its covered. Make it happen Sarah, I'm counting on you." She put her French manicured finger to her ear. "Oh hold on. Sandy, honey don't forget you have an appointment with Doctor Phillips tonight at 4! I'll see you at 7, tell me how it went at dinner at Raphael's ok? My treat!" She said.
Sandy smiled and bowed jokingly at her mom.
"You are amazing, and I will tell you all about it tonight…if I can get the raspberry and crème brûlée Gelato?" Sandy asked her mother while batting her eyelashes.
Her mother paused and them smirked.
"Deal. Have a great day, I love you. And please come straight home! I don't want to have to explain to Doctor Phillips again that you 'forgot' that you had a session." Her mother replied.
Sandy mouthed Okay to her mom and kissed her on the cheek. She was out the door as her mother proceeded to talk about the amount of dolphin chow she would need next week.

The bell rang, at 2:35 in the afternoon. Sandy quickly put her books into her carefully organized locker, and locked it.
She hailed a taxi as she came to the corner of the street, and climbed inside while giving the driver her address.
Sandy knew she was neering her house when she started to smell the salty air.
Her house was a one storey beachfront, with a private beach and boathouse. Her bedroom had a perfect view of the ocean, and she always felt happy when she could feel the salty ocean breeze. She gave the driver the folded up 50$ in her pocket and told him to keep the change.
She reached her front door, slid the key in the lock, and was welcomed home by a cold wave of air conditioned air.
She collapsed on her king bed, and fell asleep.

And hour later, she woke to a window shattering scream.

@Burning Sun
It's totally fine:) thank you for letting me know I really appreciate it! And glad you like it:)) I'm really not one for lemon either, just thought the moment needed it☺️

Okay, I'm not dissing your story, I LOVED IT, I mean, up until you wrote the lemon. It's a good story, and yeah, the lemon got some key points across about how close they are, but I think you could find a non-lemon way to tell the readers that.
