The Original Character Court

Nova Grace Schoell

Basics
Name: Nova Grace Schoell
[What's with the name? I mean, Nova isn't exactly a common name.]
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Australian
Hair color: light brown hair with purple streaks
[She dyed her hair, right? Please say yes]
Eye color: light green eyes with flecks of gold around the pupil.
[Not sure if this actually happens. I forgot. I'll ask a friend.]
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 100 pounds
[Healthy combination. But this girl is tiny.]
Other physical descriptions: Nova is fit and has what most people think of as a swimmer's build. She's tan from spending hours out in the sun surfing. She has a splash of freckles across her nose and cheeks that are visible during the summer. Both her ears are pierced twice and she has a small scar running across her collarbone; a result from a surgery she had when she broke her collarbone when she was eight. Her hair is shoulder length and curls at the ends. She always keeps her hair short as long hair always gets in her face.
[Practical]

Sexual orientation: Heterosexual
Godly parent: Asteria
[As in, goddess of prophecies in the night Asteria? Hecate's mother Asteria? I don't recall this one interacting with demigods but if it works then why not?]
Mortal parent: Matthew Schoell - A Virginia police officer
[How'd he get her attention?]
Other relationships:
She has no known half-siblings, but she has one or two mortal friends she'll hang out with on a regular basis. Because of her godly parent being a minor goddess, she's able to live in the mortal world, and usually spends the summers at camp when her friends are away on vacation and her dad is busy with work.

Personality

Positive traits:
Nova is one of those calm, mellow demigods. She can get random fits of energy that leave the impression that she's crazy. She's no social butterfly, but she has one or two friends she'll hang out with outside of Camp.

She prefers to be alone, as she likes being able to think, but she can, and will, tolerate company.

She's hardworking, but has the constant need to prove herself as a demigod because of who her mother is.

Negative traits:
Nova has trust issues due to incidents in her past. Her trust issues mainly include kids her own age, as she was betrayed by people she thought were her friends.
[What how when why?]
After a friend left her to deal with the law,
[what?]
her trust issues multiplied.

Fears/Phobias: Bugs- When Nova was younger, she lived in a small house that bugs had easy access to. One day, she found a roach in her bed. Turns out, the roach had laid eggs under her pillow. She's had the fear of bugs since.
[Ew]

Fatal Flaw: Nova has trouble trusting people. Due to many incidents in her childhood, she has trouble trusting people her own age. She's wary of who she trusts, as she's afraid she'll end up hurt. But sometimes Nova will refuse to trust the right person and as a result, ends up trusting the wrong person.
[Interesting. Unique.]

Combat-related questions

Camp: Half-Blood
Weapon of choice: A small dagger called Nox. The blade is about 12 inches and is etched with Imperial gold.
[Etched? What? And this girl is Greek. Greek prefer Celestial Bronze since it's more accessible to them.]
She keeps it in a sheath on her thigh.

Powers and Abilities: Because of her godly parent, Nova has the ability to create stars.
[WAT]
But because doing so drains her energy, she doesn't do it a lot and the stars she does make usually end up having a short lifetime of approximately a century.
[What good will making stars do?]

Backstory:
Nova was born in Australia, but only lived there for five years before her father got a job in the States. She moved to Virginia and has lived there since. She has a very faint accent that will show a lot when she's upset.

Before Nova learned she was a demigod, her life was pretty normal for a demigod. Like mentioned earlier, her mom was minor, and therefore, Nova didn't attract monsters unlike other demigods. She had a small group of friends who liked causing trouble, and Nova usually ended up getting caught in the middle of their fun. After several incidents, she backed away and started hanging out with just herself.

Many years later, she befriends two mortals who earned her trust.
[How?]
When Nova isn't at camp during the summer, the trio is almost always together. Nova's dad is a Virginia police officer (who can also see through the Mist) and Nova has a good relationship with him. She lives with her dad and when he's working, she'll sometimes take her bike and visit him.

When Nova found out she was a demigod, she was thirteen. She had just fought her first monster and her dad, worried for his daughter, decided it was time for her to see camp. Her dad was taking her up Half-Blood Hill and all of a sudden, a star appeared over Nova's head. Not recognizing the symbol, she asked her dad and found out her mom was Asteria, the minor (Titan) goddess of nocturnal oracles and falling stars.

She spent the summer at camp learning how to use her powers, and at the end of the summer, went back to her father. While at camp, she learned a lot. She learned how to use her powers, to avoid the strawberry field as she's slightly allergic to them, and that she hates jigsaw puzzles, as they require an extreme amount of concentration and Nova has the attention span of a goldfish.

(I'm still kinda working on the bio...)
[Aight, I'll take that one into consideration.]

Comments:
Besides the strange ability and the biography (since you're still working on that), you're OC's sound.

Final judgement: Elysium
