Backstory: Ben was born on December 20th, on a beautiful night in Italy.
[So he's born Italian. His name isn't exactly Italian.]
He grew up in a little apartment house, with his Mom.
His Dad always was 'out for work' and, being only two, he didn't understand.
A few months later, his Dad left a note saying, I have to go, tell him that he's loved and watched over.

His Mom was so devasted that she moved away, because the Italian town reminded her too much of her loved husband.
They moved to Ireland, where his Mom was born and raised.
[Wait. Why'd she move to Italy? If Ben was just born in Italy but neither of his parents were Italian, "Italian" can't be part of his ethnicity.]
They lived in a beautiful town home that provided them with more warmth and comfort than they would ever need.
Ben got permission to use up ['use up' is the wrong term. Simply 'use' will do] an old garage as a workshop, where he enjoyed making things 'new'. [?]
He was homeschooled because his Mom wanted to keep him safe,but after various monster attacks, but after a harpy attack, (his little sister died in it) she sent him to Camp Halfblood.
[I don't think his mom knew that Janus was a god. At least, nothing in the previous paragraphs implied that.]
While he was there, Luke tried to get him to join the Titan army, and gave him a month to decide.
All the anxiety about this led him into depression, and soon he told Chiron and ran away,
[why the fuck would he run away?] remembering that Luke threatened to kill him if he spoke of Kronos.
[I just realized. Janus is a Roman god. Sure, he showed up in Battle of the Labyrinth but he's more likely to have his kids sent to Camp Jupiter.]
He met Emi, on the way, and the two were close companions, that is, until they were separated in a snowstorm.
The next week, he stumbled into New York, depressed, tired, and starving. He had realized that he wasn't finding his friend.
His Dad met him, and gave him a choice,
"Either run back to the Wilderness and Find the girl, or come with me. "
Ben remembered his fatal flaw, and (sadly) went with his Dad,knowing that Eni was most likely dead.
His father, Janus, bought him lunch and a plane ticket.
He explained:
" I am the god of new beginnings, the god of open doorways, and I believe that you need a new beginning, "
The next day he returned to Ireland, promising to return to his Mom with an open heart, ready to embrace the future.

Comments:
Well, there are a lot of over-used tropes. Backstory was really iffy for me. Your character's not that bad but I don't have that much good to say either. Powers and abilities don't really make sense so please expound on the abilities explain them.
