My Life as the Daughter of Poseidon: Book One: True Me, True You

Alex was finally better, and I couldn't wait to see her-No! It's not like that... I think...

Anyway, I was walking down the infirmary hall when I bumped right into Alex. With her thin light blue tank top and the long cotton dark-blue-with-pink-and-light-blue-owls pajama bottoms, she looked like a grumpy, disheveled, brunette Elsa. "Hey what do think you're f- NICO!" she yelled, throwing her arms around my neck, and I could feel the tears in her voice as she whispered, "Thank you so much for visiting me, I know it was just a stomach virus complication, but there were times I felt like I wouldn't make it out alive." Her head was nestled in the crook of my neck, and I could feel her warmth seep into my bones. I had never quite realized how cold I was.

Alex pulled away from me, but I could still feel her warm touch on my skin. "Have I missed anything?"
"No, actually, you were supposed to leave for your quest tomorrow." I replied, remembering what Will had said.
"I'm not stupid, we were supposed to leave two days ago!"
"Oh, um-"
"Haha, it's ok, I heard what Will said. That was sweet!"
I could feel the blush creeping up my cheeks. Was she flirting with me? Do girls flirt even when they're dating?!
"So, um... what's the story with you and Marco? I mean, you guys don't seem to hang out much"
Gods.
"Well, I mean, we like each other, but neither of us know how to be in a couple, so we kinda just own the titles of boyfriend and girlfriend while failing at being boyfriend and girlfriend. Why?"
Gods.
"Well, um..."
She had an amused look in her eyes, like Yeah... I was flirting with you, and watching you struggle is fun because you look cute!
Gods.


So several hours later, we were sitting in the Poseidon cabin with the rest of the Seven and Calypso and Shera just hanging out, when all of a sudden, Piper jumped up, grabbed Calypso, then came back in carrying a karaoke machine. Piper grabbed mike and stood up. "Ok, we're doing Frozen songs first, who wants to go?"
I watched as Shera stood up. Alex backed into a corner, with her feet out and hands curled like a wild animal. Shera walked over and grabbed her arm and began dragging Alex over, even as she tried to make herself as limp as possible so she could not easily be moved. Shera picked out "For the First Time in Forever" and began to sing.

"The window is open, so is that door, I didn't know they did that any-more..."

I was amazed at how much Shera sounded like Kristen Bell.

"For years I've roamed these empty halls..."

Then we got to the part where Alex sang.

She started out quiet, her voice growing slightly with each word... what I didn't understand is why she sounded exactly like Idina Menzel..... and why she was changing some of the lyrics.

"Don't let them in, don't let them see, be that bad girl you were always meant to be, conceal, don't feel, give them a shoooow, make one wrong move and everyone will knooow..."

After the clapping ended Alex didn't stop singing.... she moved right on to Let it Go.

"The moon glows white on the ocean tonight, not a ripple to be seen, a se-ea of isolation, and it looks like.... I'm mer-queen. The waves are crashing like this swirling storm inside.... I couldn't stop myself, the gods know I tried..... don't let them in! Don't let them see, be that bad girl you were always meant to be, conceal, don't feel, they don't have to know, well know they knooooooooooooow! Let me go, let me go, can't control it any mooooore, let me go, let me go, swim away and slam the door!"


And we all listened as she continued to sing like brunette Elsa.



When she finished, she looked around like she just realized what she was doing. Beofre she could reach the door, Jason trapped her in a cone of air. "I believe we have found that some descendants of Poseidon-" she looked at Frank. "Can change shape. Apparently some can change voices." Annabeth announced. "Now to see what happens when we dunk them in salt water!"

Alex struggled as Jason fought to keep her in her air cage as Shera walked beside her. When we reached the ocean, Shera calmly stepped in up to her waist, then walked out. "So I can keep myself dry-" she stuck her head under the water. "And I can breath underwater like Percy!" Then Jason dropped Alex into the deeper water. For a moment she struggled and screamed, "WHAT'S HAPPENING!" and when we waded in to see what was happening... Alex had a fish tail.

Shera waded in up to where Alex was. She too grew a fish tail, hers slightly lighter than Alex's. When they both got out of the water, they were taken to the lake. Nothing happened. They could still use the same powers as Percy in fresh water, like him, but when they went deep enough into salt water...... yeah.

"Sheridan is the name of a sea goddess, I can't remember from what myths, but it's true. Tsunami... how did you get your name." Annabeth said, after Shera told her she had gotten her name from a "family friend" who had died, and to that Annabeth muttered "the gods are strange."

"When I was born, I cried a lot, my parents said it was like waves of tears were washing down my face, so they named me Tsunami."

"Well," Annabeth replied. "You guys are mermaids."

YAY!!!!! I have been waiting to write about this for so long!!!!!!!!!! Also, pictures of Tsunami and Sheridan are in the characters if you haven't seen them.

HA!!! So you all know DoctorWhofangirl? Yeah, well I know her in real life... I told her I was planning on making Shera date Nico.... then she read this chapter..... just a tip: never drink seltzer on your bed while FaceTiming an angry friend who knows how to make you laugh! (just realized why Rick Riordan is so evil.... MWAHAHA)
