My Life as the Daughter of Poseidon: Book One: True Me, True You

Ichthyocentaurs

Tsu came stumbling (led by a bemused-looking Annabeth) into my room, which looked just like hers except instead of light aqua it was all light blue. She opened her mouth, most likely to scream about the fact that I was lying on my bed (I was grinning like an idiot) with legs, but she tripped over herself and fell on her face. Annabeth looped her arms under Tsunami's, and dragged her (walking backwards) over to my bed, where she then picked her up and dropped her on my mattress. We were back to wearing the clothes we were wearing yesterday, before we had spent the night, and they were stiff with salt, as we had gotten wet as mermaids but hadn't allowed water to touch us again.

"We got summoned by Poseidon!" Percy said, swinging off the door frame and into the room.
"He says there are clothes in the dressers, and to change into them, and that he's sorry that you three lost your bags of clothes." and with that, Percy Jackson left the room, except some fish swam under him and knocked him off balance, and his head hit the ceiling. Remember? Zero gravity. Annabeth ran over to him, but then said, "Wait, you're underwater you idiot! You're fine!"
She grabbed his foot and pulled him out of the room., shoving him into his room, and walking into hers to change into something else. Tsunami paddled out of the room, then switched to the same stroke (the dolphin) she had used as a mermaid. I looked into the drawers of the resser that sat opposite my bed, and pulled out a Greek-style bra (A, how was I supposed to keep that thing on?! I was twelve!! And B, my dad knew I needed a bra. Ok....), apparently-cotton undershorts (like underwear but shorts?), a light blue (really light blue), knee-length, floppy tunic and a white leather belt that I wrapped beneath my rib cage because I thought it looked better, loose white cotton pants that ended about halfway down the shin and white flip flops that were in better condition that the ones I was wearing, so I put mine into a white messenger bag along with other clothes.
Tsunami came in wearing a bright aqua t-shirt that's sleeves ended about three inches below the shoulder, and where the sleeves ended was where the rest of the shirt started, which created a somewhat casual, frumpy-cool look. She had on cropped black leggings that ended halfway down the shin. She still had on her black gladiator sandals, and had a black backpack that I figured was also full of clothes slung over one shoulder. Annabeth appeared in the door wearing what looked like a cut-out chiton, a white dress that had one over the shoulder strap, and short white leggings. She had a silver tote bag which resembled a purse (she looked unhappy about that) and silver sandals.
"Well then," she said.
"I highly suggest we follow the sound of trumpets and the our names being announced."
We all broke into a run, Percy following behind us wearing another set of basketball shorts and a tank top, and when we broke through the doors we saw a fifteen foot table with a feast of burgers, tacos, deli sandwiches, chips, soda, lemonade and others on it. How often must Percy have visited for them to know his tastes this well? Poseidon was sitting at the head of the table, and Percy and Annabeth were on one side, me and Tsunami on the other.
"Welcome, welcome!" Poseidon boomed.
Tsunami glared at Poseidon and muttered under her breath before pulling her chair to the other end of the table.
"Crap!" whispered Percy.
Annabeth's eyes widened, and I motioned to her to come back. I was just as upset as her, but shes said herself (really, I quote her on this) "There is a fine line between brave and stupid."
Where do you think I thought she was?
"Ha, it's ok."
We all stared at Poseidon. He had accepted her outburst, but this? So not normal, especially from a god.
"You are young, and naive. Though I do believe this will be accepted in other cases because of how.... humorous you are. Just learn, young lady, this will not be tolerated much longer."
I searched Tsu's face, expected to see a hint of shame or weakness. See, the thing about Tsu is that deep down, she's extremely sensitive, but she hides it with her strength. I would expect something like this to shake her up, but she showed no signs of breaking. This time, she was determined.
"Now, I think you all know four is an unlucky number for a quest."
We nodded as Tsunami pulled turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle and meatball parmesan sandwiches onto her plate, along with two medium sized tacos and a burger. I can't say I was much better, nor was Percy.
"But this quest requires four, and I can tell you none of you should die if you are careful. You should remember the aquarium in Atlanta. The ichthyocentaurs were unable to save the creatures imprisoned there due to an underwater earthquake that rendered them helpless, and I am sorry to say they are still rebuilding. That is what you will be doing."

Notes

Hi everybody! This is the third time I've written this, but my laptop got fixed (YAY!!!!!) so as you tell this is the last. My chapters should be better, ever so slightly longer, and come more frequently now! I really can't believe nobody (that I know of) came up with the ichthyocentaur idea! Sorry this one doesn't have much speaking or action in it.... I just love describing clothes....

Peace, love, and Nico di Angelo
