Tears and Flowers
Wake
When I woke up, I was on the floor of the shrine, and I couldn't stand.
Ugh, I don't know if I can do this any more!
"Mom?"
A small, warm, puff filled the room with heat.
"Yes?"
"I don't- I don't know if I can do this anymore."
"Oh, sweetie."
Hestia came over to me, and sighed. She was nothing like how Percy described her. Honestly, she was a bit like Aphrodite. Overbearing. Annoying. Frankly, I was disappointed in her, "born of kindness" or not. Not like that made much sense anyway.
"I knew it would come to this. Well, first of all....... you were born naturally, well, as natural as a demigod's birth can be. I wanted to be unmarried, but then...... I fell in love with a wonderful mortal man. Since I was afraid of marriage it wasn't having a short relationship that scared me-"
"So you lied."
"Let me finish. I was selfish with wanting you to sacrifice every night. But in order for you to it less often, once a month I suppose..... you will have to sacrifice your own blood."
There was a long pause.
"And you will have to do it until you die."
